Be very careful packing the case by the handle. The plastic gets brittle and breaks easily. Nice score of a case though. I have the same one and use it everytime I take a lantern camping.

Both the 220d and the 200a look to be in good condition and 100% original including the sunrise globes. Not very often does one find two 70yr old lanterns together with original glass.

The earlier 242B's have a hump at the end of the bail slots whereas the later B's and the C's have a smooth "bail housing". Later frames have "3000" stamped on them. Is there a difference in the 242B and 242c frames if I exclude the war years? Say a 1937 B and a 1947 or 1948 C? The above lantern kinda needs a frame to make it look correct.

From what I have noted, the 242B's didn't start getting a side-fount stamp until 11/37. I do note a 2/37 with one, although it could have been 7/42 (but not as likely, since it would have been painted green). That would fit perfectly with the date of Oct of 37 date on the bottom. I purchased this 242 fount for parts. 20211227_190208.jpg It was missing the entire frame and the fuel valve stem. I just noticed that it doesn't have a large fount stamp like other 242Bs have or the small one that the 242Cs have. The date on the bottom is a 7 10 as pictured and it came with a 242B ...

I was finally able to get back to the shop were I saw the 442A stove and bring her home. Thanks for all the enabling words. She is in better shape than I originally thought. Fuel tank tab says 4-64 for the date.

Is the date stamping obscured? Should be stamped on the bottom. By the way, what did you decide on the 442? Found an all CAPS 242 globe

Yesterday I found this globe on a 242B. From what I have written down this is from 1946-47, so a replacement for the 242B, but rare. What do you all think? There is no visible date on the fount, but 242B collar.

Timm, have you looked at Terminal Gravity? I know you have lanterns stashed there as well, lots of places to hide them there. And they serve cold ones and that could have helped you to hide it from yourself.

Ran across a 442 I got it now.

Today I ran across a 442 suitcase stove. I am not officially a stovie, but I do have more stoves than I can ever use. Without disclosing the asking price, should I be bringing this home? It is a pretty clean stove, the aluminum is nice but all the metal is a bit rusty but not bad.
