Hello everyone.

I keep the bulk of them in several Harbor Freight ammo boxes. Some concern has been raised in the past about decay isotopes from thorium. A few packs here and there is no concern to me though

You are welcome. This one looks like it was dipped in black paint. It is so filthy & greasy.

I just picked up a model 1 recently along with a Justrite at the same place. The hangers on the Coleman both measure 1" 3/16.

You have 40 lanterns? Now you have your first lamp. These are even easier to work on. Look out, you will need to build more shelving.

Never seen string inside the generator before. Have seen it in the preheat cup many times though. Maybe it got shoved in there somehow.

Lye will take all of that black nasty out of the tank. You will be amazed. Make sure you have eye protection on when working with Lye!

Then you will see if there is any rust.

I wouldn't wire wheel the paint off the tank. Too abrasive. It'll be a lot of polishing to get the scratches out unless you are going to paint it again. Just use a strong paint stripper or the stuff shone & 0000 steel wool.

Without changing anything else try a 200A tip. Maybe that tiny less bit of gas will make a difference.

That green patina is corroded brass showing through where the nickel is gone. CLR or vinegar & 0000 steel wool will work. Try to let the chemicals do the work more than the steel wool.

If the crack bothers you, a little muffler mender type stuff could be smeared in there and the excess steel wooled off. I wouldn't think that it would affect performance though.
