I would say it peaked in the 50s decade as far when it went down I think it depends on the model of what ever your looking at. But in general I would say late 70s. The new stuff makes puke in my mouth a little bit.

I can’t say the best but my favorite is my 249. Has the nickel 242 dashing good looks. And Probably easier to maintain. I know some don’t share my opinion on this but i enjoy the preheat. I could see times it would be inconvenient.

Your right about that. It doesn’t show in the cell phone pic well. As it looks a little yellow. I have one of the blue pack Egret mantles on it and it’s a retina burner in person.

I was totally surprised by it. It must be at the end of US 249 production. The guide is saying 47 to 58 in the US. But everything looks just like the 58 pictured. Other than I clocked it wrong

They look good now. Can you give a quick description of the technique. I have a wild found 249 apart now that had the valve leaning to one side it straightened up but the bung it screws into is a little recessed now. Hopefully this may help me out with that
