I get my generators a dull red, then drop them into a bucket of cold water... Over and over and eventually the packing/coil will fall out... If the gen body is not mangled to prevent it of course.

Post #2 second picture has 3 AGM shades, a Lind-o-lite shade, and a Coleman 329. Then the next picture down looks too have some hollow wire globes... Would need some measurements. Some good desirable items there, wish I was closer to help identify.

The only fount you'll find in that size with the 1/2-32 tapered thread will be a 249 fount... If it were me I would find a nickel 220/228 B or D fount. They're readily available and generally cheap. Not the correct size of course but would still look sharp and get you running.

Thanks Toby...I was really hoping it was not a Coleman, it is safe from coming into my line-up now. It just seem to "light", it didn't seem to have the weight that the Colemans have...the mica shade seemed to possibly be Coleman. I guessed right! Check the fount on that Akron closely for cracks... ...

These are the two different sizes of tools I built... I forget now when they started going to the wider slot... 50's maybe? I rarely use that one anymore... Dan, is it just me or are those parts Canadian? Looks like an embossed 200 collar from here, and I know Toronto kept the many holed frame through their whole run. Just figured it might be useful info. Canadian frames are the only ones I'm aware of that had the cheese grater frame with wide bail tabs.

Duane this mixing chamber is what you're looking for on your lantern, they were used from about mid 1917-1924. The earliest lanterns don't have the letter embossing. Thanks Duane, everything I can see places that lantern in the mid 1917-1919 range except the mixing chamber which like I mentioned earlier was used from 24-30.
