After the T88 was discontinued, the Q77 would become standard from my understanding.Coldwaterpaddler wrote: โSat Jun 03, 2023 2:36 am My only slant is a 1928. Maybe I'll check it out soon. Ran it last weekend and it was really dim.
Do slants typically run Q77?

Re: Q77 Preheat (stupid question of the day)
Those iron generators are handy for converting slants to a T88 style gen ๐ How is that? Use the gen tip on a different gen? I noticed that these 603-299 generators are the same tube as the Q77. Re: Kit to refill 1lb propane canisters at Wallyworld
These cheapy cans were not designed to be "bled off". Once you open the valve the pressure will equalize. Once this happens the liquid from the supply tank will gravity over to the horizontal tank which will only fill to where the nozzle is screwed into the tank. Leaving enough (safe amount) of head...

Mike, I'm not much of one to give up parts I may need someday, but if you have some other old parts to trade I might be interested. This one is in my parts bin for a someday project. ..... I normally would, but the FA tube is not removable on these stoves. I think they are on the 500a (i have never owned one), but not on the 500. I may just hang it in my US cleaner so that the packing stays out of the cleaning solution. Huh? Admittedly, all of mine are US production, but: https...

Picked this little thing up off of marketplace last night. I'm always late for marketplace finds, but this one had some advertising issues, so that may have helped me. Toby--Sure enough, I swapped the valve/gen assembly from my 500A (the best runner of the three until now) for the one from the painted 500. The painted 500 now runs like a top, and the 500A now needs work. I've had these issues before and I always figured if a fella would put the needle and/or the ...

Toby--I'm terrified of taking the needle out of a valve stem. I had some bad experiences with that when I was younger and it left me mentally scarred. I've had to do this on a couple stove burners. Some of those early cast mixing chambers are tough to access, but these cables will really evict the mud daubers

Yes any eccentric from a 220/228B - 220/228F should work. The earliest B models had an oddball eccentric, but the odds of you getting one is slim.. Even some of the later 220/228's may work, but I've forgotten.

Heat and quench is the go to for nearly all stuck threads. Anytime you can heat the outer piece faster than the inner piece the more chance you have of breaking the two items apart. When working with a mixing chamber and vent stud one is trying to heat a much larger outer piece, so the smaller inner...

Re: Coleman 242 A check valve
I can't speak for Coleman stoves (altho I suspect they do to) but the 242 and 242A with the NRV also have the snorkel pump tube just like the 220/228B's of the same period. One can easily swap in the later check valve/air stem setup and be perfectly safe doing so.
