Can't help you with any early ads or marketing... But if you'll look at early nickel 242- 242B models there's not much difference... In fact, I would prefer the 242 Series myself.

Well done Mike! I call dibs when you're bored of it 😂

As far as brightness I find the Tilley's are not nearly as bright as a Coleman and I think it has a lot to do with the mantle being up so high near the vent... Seems like it cuts out a lot of light... Which I actually prefer for most situations.

This is what your generator looks like. Nulite used an oddball thread of course. If I remember correctly the pipe is the same od as most brass that is threaded for 1/8 NPT, but Nulite decided to use a (don't quote me on this) 40 thread pitch. https://i.postimg.cc/432GM7db/PXL-20220412-154827973.jpg ...

Vladimir, sorry for the delay. Be sure to show off a flame shot when you get your stove up and running 😁

It's all got to do with how they're handled/packed. I've had two lanterns arrive via USPS with intact mantles. Kudos to the shipper and carrier.

All 220's should have the brass rings on both sides of the graphite packing. Sometimes they're stuck to and colored just like the packing, so can be hard to see.

Re: Stuck non embossed 327 vent

I had the exact same issue on one and I ended up removing the burner and vent whole and going at it from the bottom. Yours with a mica would be more difficult. It's a pain as the vent spins and the bushing stays put, so you gain nothing by twisting.

Well done to both of you. The earliest Prentiss Wabers lanterns used a brass shaft... Not sure why PW got away from that... Maybe they were bad to twist off? They are a fairly small diameter.

This is a common issue/feature of the little peak lanterns. They don't have much air capacity in the fount and as the fuel level drops, so does your air pressure. I notice as the fuel level gets low I can go longer between pumping.

My question still stands. For anyone with a three burner Preway, are the secondary burners as strong as the primary like on the 'wedge'? Not in my experience, but they are much more even than a Coleman in my opinion. More BTUs it seems also, but I don't have an effective way of measuring it either....

Definitely, still need a pre-heat, albeit not nearly as long of one. Won't be as bright as kero, but still plenty bright.
