Re: Why does cantaloupe taste so disgusting?! 🤮

Cantaloupe is best when, good and ripe, it's cut in half, and after the seeds have been scooped out, the cavity is filled with homemade ice cream turned with cream fresh from the cow. Growing up, that combination was for me the essence of summer. Damn son, I've never had those two together but now ...

You can do that, or maybe just go to NAPA and tell them you need a Schrader made for gasoline, like what is on some fuel injection systems. OR, you can get them for little money from our sponsor, OCP! (And I don't even make any money on those...!) Also friend, it's not ignorant to ask questions. No...

Here's my Northstar 2000 running on kero at the same event with a lighthouse 625 mantle. All I did was to pack a wad of fiberglass Tiki torch wick under the bottom mantle holder to preheat with. Out of curiosity, why are you running a Lighthouse 625 mantle and not the Northstar-specific mantle from...

The sealant used on 275s is exceptionally tough. Carefully use heat from a torch on the valve where it goes into the fount. Keep away from the paint. When the sealant bubbles a bit it will turn on out of there

Re: OT upper ID

I went and looked it up and CW forge marks is a Bushmaster made upper and they made 24" barrels so it's probably theirs. Lonestar Ordnance made stocks, grips, handguards and a few other items back in the day. I buy their AR grips with the storage compartment when I run across them priced reasonably.

Play with it and see how it goes. Just remember to open the valve all the way right off. Skip the 1/4 turn part with kero. I prefer a soft start.

Installing a 237 generator in a 236 may do that but i dont know if it will fit. I have a 237 but no 236 so I can't verify what parts would interchange. I've had good luck running kero in cf lanterns by just adding a preheater cup and replacing the paper-ish filter tube in the original generator with...

Use a little heat if it doesn't unscrew easily. Then follow this guide to clean your generator.

I never understood the garrison cap. Especially during a world war when materials were short and manpower was supposed to be for critical items, and they waste untold production hours and material on the most impractical headgear ever devised. Ditto on dress uniforms.

Brass is pretty soft anyway, I can't imagine that removing and replacing a fuel cap over the years has work hardened it much. Has anyone experienced a problem from heating them?

I've always used the flat gaskets. However, after learning some years ago of the use of O-rings for badly rusted filler lips, I bought some fuel resistant O-rings, the first of which was for a 132A lamp. Rusty, I realize you may have wanted me to choose one or the other, but I think many of use use...

This is debated often and is the beans vs no beans in chili of this site. We don't have the option of adding a poll to a post here but I'm curious as to what everyone else uses and why. I use an o-ring as they do the job and are easy to get locally and I am too impatient to wait on an order if I can...
