I'm looking for one for a primus stove that is sentimental to my mother in law with the same frustration as you. I'm thinking that the next beater propane stove that I find is going to be a parts donor and the fittings soldered into the old primus. You might consider the same.

I like how sturdy it is. I would be concerned about the lantern sitting on the stove. I see where you drilled clearance for the vent nut. Dawn dish detergent on the stove with a good brush should do the job fine. A little detail work with a brillo pad on the case rust and the burners is all I would do. Make sure it runs first though.

I don't know about the serial numbers or dating the natural gas heaters. But I'm guessing late 40's to mid 60's on that one.
I too came up empty with a search on that one. Most of those were probably forgotten about before the internet came along

If through heating and quenching you get the filter out intact just heat it red hot and let it air cool. Then put it back in and use it.
