I like it. I agree though, it think it would be a good idea to stiffen up the sides. It even looks like there is a pocket in the top of the bag for mantles.

3016's DO have burner screens, unlike the later Kamplites.

Yes your looks correct. Some C’s came with a stamped mixing chamber and others with the cast. My 7/46.

Oven cleaner ( Lye ) is your friend here. Get a can of Easy Off oven cleaner and give the fount a good spray down. Gloves are a must!
