When I removed the S generator from my 107, I used two pieces of 3/4'' wood and I cut them 1 1/2'' wide and about 3'' - 4'' long. Sandwich the gen in between the two pieces and then I used a pair of channel loc's to unscrew the generator from the valve. The wood stiffened the S bend of the generator...

I agree with Brian. Most likely a property or town boundary marker. We have a lot of them in our area. Growing up we had one on our property. It was marked, W on one side, WS on the other and H on another. The corner connections for Westfield, West Springfield and Holyoke town lines.

My Akron 107 does this same thing. The pump pushes back almost as quickly as you put pressure into the fount. I'm going to try soaking the pump to free up that BB. I fettled the entire lantern and would really like to run it.
