A bit of oil sounds better than W.D.. You want a lube to scrub the walls of a two stroke vs running them unlubed. Just as you want the right premix of gas/oil to run them. One day an old timer came in the dealer's I was at and carrying a new chainsaw said , I didn't know they needed oil mixed in the...

Pully for handcranking has a missing ear and the other is worn. Gave it up after a few tries. Then hopped on the Kubota.

Impellers have a bend to their fins at rest. Checking/cracks can result. Setting long periods does not keep them flexed lively. To relieve you of potential distress, I could trade you a 4h.p. Old stuff (sixties/seventies) we could run straight thirty weight or something in in summer. Would prefer in your case to diagnose the cause of low oil pressure. Could be the oil pump. But don't know the condition of your oil galleys ect..Oil change frequency and condition. Consumption rate. Your oi...

A hood is great in summer.
Helps save paint from sun and bird crap ,but could also (possibly) reduce coils cracking from heat /temp changes on older 2 strokes.
I've used a burlap sack before for years. Ideal? Nope. Functional? Enough in a thrifty pinch.
