Last week ex wife attempted suicide, currently she is on palliative life support and not expected to make it, traveling to do a farewell, too hard to do.

Be safe, now all the critters are roaming around, found some snakes in the backyard today cleaning branches, can't distinguish what they were, so I gave them time to scatter before continuing.

A coleman CL2, was posessed, melted eccentric block and never worked right. Ended up being a single mantle, kero burning lantern.

I believe prices were the same, adjusted by inflation and wages at the time. A while ago there was a thread about prices, and the models back then were at similar prices than current ones, all things considered.

I would get a variable speed drill, mount it on a plywood base, and bypass the trigger with a rheostat. The motor will work as intended.

Hurricane passed straight overhead at around 4am, lots of rain but no damage, I slept through it, dogs and cat were unfazed. We were lucky.

Possible German or northern European, being in liters, if they are enameled, possibly made before 1940.

The pulsing could be caused by leidenfrost effect inside the generator, check with a known good genie.

If the generator has gum deposits inside it can do the pulsing.

Just got word that a possible cat 3 hurricane is heading my way, seems like my preparations are on track, have water, food, gas, a generator, radio, and boards for the windows. Will be interesting to see how does it pan out.

The saga continues, repaired the fuel pickup, but will have to clean the valve again, keeps plugging the jet, had a promising start, followed by a fizzle...first GPA that makes me work for the money.

Got to work on the 530, fount was a mess of dried up fuel and varnish, soaked in carb cleaner, turned out ok, filter screen was packed so solid that looked like it was graphite, so new mesh, pricker was broken, new pricker, fuel cap gasket was dust, cleaned and replaced with new gasket, lubed leathe...

Last time I got on a plane, they had me remove two NOS Primus alcohol containers from my luggage and throw them in the trash, did not matter they never had alcohol in them, I would be leery of taking anything that may have contained fuel in my suitcase. My 275 was a chore to make it work, but it is a dependable and very quiet lantern. If I want light and to be able to hold a normal conversation, this is the one to light.

I like black and white, got hooked with it a couple of years ago, when finally got hold of a decent camera (Canon FT), my learning curve was a little steep, but now I can hold well and can take reasonable pictures. Learned to develop them too.

In layman's terms, more lumens means " more watts". I know they are not equivalent, but it hits the point across.

I remember reading somewhere that a normal 220 lantern is similar to a 75 watt lightbulb.
