I noticed the time stamp looked way off , so I started looking around and saw that it's "UTC".
Had to look that up.
We ain't got no UTC out here in the sticks.

I tried to get here about the time of the change over but couldn't. Tried today and didn't have any problem.

Good going.
When you go to use it, a viton o-ring works good on this kind of cap.
Just leave the lead seal in there if it's not messed up.

You could try heating it with something flameless, like a soldering iron or something.

Been a while since I had mine apart, but doesn't the C's have the fat check valve like the B's and milspecs ?

It's obvious that someone before you rebuilt the genny, since you said you found bronze wool in there.
Maybe they replaced the burner cap screen with a larger mesh.
Do you have another 200A type lantern you can compare it to ?

The newer ones seem to perform about like the new Coleman mantles.
Good idea on trying them on the same lantern.

I'm thinkin' that's really early for that type of fount and vent if that's April/26 . Couldn't be a late one from '34 could it ?

If you have removed the rod and the bottom of the f/a tube there is no need to solder or otherwise plug the air holes at the top. The restriction of the little hole in the bottom by the F/A rod is what causes the air to be drawn into the inner fuel tube. Without the rod and especially the ...

Check to see if it has a fuel/air tube or just a fuel tube in the fount.
That'll help in identifying it.

I know the 243 series did.

OK, I'm thinkin' maybe the "cam", if that's the right word, at the end of the shaft assembly might not be bent right, causing a short stroke of the eccentric.
Have you looked into that possibility ?

Sounds like you have it solved, but for future reference, the pump/air stem on most lanterns is the same size stock as the eccentric block, at least on Colemans.

Cool stove.
Try some heat on that stuck valve.
Go easy.
You don't want to force anything and end up breaking something.

Sounds like the fuel/air tube is clogged at the bottom, allowing only air from the fount..

OK, am I confused or is someone else ??
I thought "Match Lighting" was for lamps with a Q-99, and those with a fuel/air tube were designated "Instant Lighting".

A 201 genny is a good swap for a 242 or 200A conversion, but would probably be undersized for a two mantle conversion. A 202 genny is the same as a 200A genny. Coleman used to make the T44K generator for the 235's and some kero lamps but they're discontinued, which is why we have to use th...

Dave, do you get much air back through the CV with the air stem still open ? Sounds like the pumps are in good shape. Might need to clean or replace the CV. Do you get a lot of air escaping when you open the fuel cap, after pumping it up good ? My 335 and 275's are very bright.<b...

I'll bet if a pricker can't be found, one could be made.
The tip with the pricker unscrews from the rod..

Try pushing the pump down with the air stem closed.
If you can push it down, you have a pump problem.
If not, you might have a CV problem.

It looks great, Earnie, but there's no way I would have stripped that paint.
You may have had the only remaining example of that paint scheme.
At least you now have a good looking lamp though, but don't loose those photos of it's original paint, for future reference.

Ray, are you absolutely sure there's no blockage in the mixing chamber/manifold ?
If swapping the genny doesn't help, I'd check out the manifold really wellll.

Well, to be fair, if I worked some place like that, and someone came in and asked for a schrader valve for his turd, I'd look at them like they were crazy too...

Unless of coarse I was a Coleman collector.
Then I'd think it was a perfectly reasonable request.
