Lot of history there Dan. Black one in the center looks unique, is it an early wall phone? The red phone brings back memories of the Cold War era Presidential direct line from the White House to Moscow. All those look to be in great condition.

Those ones from OCP might work but I'd be leery that they might be thicker than the originals and set up to high in the recessed slots on the table thus not allowing the table to fully close when folded. I have a handful of propane lanterns mostly from my Dad including his 5107 8/73. Don't use them much but they are convenient to have on hand just in case and easy to use. Like you, I thought about "Franking" it too but decided I'll leave it the way my Dad used it.

Tremendous amounts of snow across the western states in recent weeks. Yosemite NP is closed to visitors indefinitely, some people in the Sierras are snow bound without power for at least 8 days now and waiting for roads to be plowed and much the same situation in the mountains in southern California...

Try it again. Make sure it has plenty of pressure in the fount and enough fuel for a good test. Thats gotta hurt Wayne! If it makes you feel any better; Mt Washington in New Hampshire recorded - 47 at about 4 this morning. Throw in 127 mph winds makes for a wind chill factor of - 109.

I've done it using leather lace. Wrapped it like you would the end of a frayed rope. Real easy and it only takes a minute or two.

Maybe one of those tanks will fit a 426. They have 3 burners and and lots of room for big skillets and pots - your griddle should easily fit.

I put the valve in a vice and fairly easily pulled it straight. The dent did not come out of the top of the fount much but the valve is straight and everything lines up pretty good. If you clamp the valve body in a vise, I think you can pull that fount (by hand) where it is square again without damaging anything.
