Re: Mixing this hobby with my astrophotography

Cool picture! Astrophotography is a fun but potentially expensive hobby. So far I've kept my setup "cheap", although I do want to upgrade into the world of star trackers, and similar. I had an old orange tube C-8 mounted on a Losmandy G-11 GEM. With all that equipment, plus cables, batteries, dew c...

Matt, had to chuckle at your ear-cleaning story. 😄 I did something similar when checking a stove tank!

If you are referring to the auction picture, I believe the ‘white foam’ on the insert is from the extreme angle of the lighting across the surface of the insert.

Thanks, Joe. I like the way the frosted globe subdues the light along with the adjustability of the lantern itself. I’m always trying to find ways to reduce the brightness of lanterns in camp once the Sunshine of the Night is no longer needed! 😁

When I cleaned the generator on my #9 stove and before installing the tip, I was able to watch them roll as I opened and closed the valve. Pretty cool concept but doubt they will be dealing with much carbon buildup if using clean CF.
