USFS lantern $hot!

I have no idea how long it’s been since this lantern was last lit but it took minimal work getting it fired up. Replaced the cap gasket, cleaned out the generator, and installed a different pump assembly since the one on board needs tweaking. Swished some CF around the fount and dumped. Minimal part...

Thanks to all for the comments. Needless to say, I am very stoked to add this lantern to my collection and thankful that Mel reached out to me. I have really started concentrating more on items I can use and this one fits the bill. Can’t wait!

Well done on that one Mark! Does it have a 7/16" or 1/2" gland nut? Is the underside of the vent white? Thanks, Toby. 1/2” and no. Mark the 1/2" gland nut started showing up in 35 and the bail shape would change in late 35 , so I'd lay money down that you're seeing a 5 year stamp 😁 Congratulations ...

USFS Lantern!

My USFS lantern arrived today! Again, thank you very much, Mel, for offering up this lantern. It jumped straight into second place in my collection, right behind my parents 220E! 😁 I’m really happy to have it in my collection and plan to get it running soon so it will be ready for camping this summe...

Up here in northern Colorado, other than a few temporary closures due to falling tree hazards in burn areas, most roads that are closed currently are due to the snow conditions in the high country. Heard Grand mesa has up to 15 feet of snow in some areas, will be there up to maybe June or July. Nic...

Nice stove, soon-to-be, Stovie-Ulf! 😁 A 425 is a great little compact 2-burner stove if you’re using smaller pots/pans. 413’s are nice for the bigger skillets/pots/Coleman oven. Then there’s the 426 3-burners when you need to perc some coffee while fixing some breakfast and toast. I have one of each...
