Russ, I’m seriously thinking you found Mr. Peabody’s Wayback Machine and use it to score all the vintage stuff you find. 😁 That is way cool. Somewhere I have a picture of a family outing in the 60’s and our jug is sitting on the edge of the picnic table. It didn’t have lunar lander legs!

They are good to go. Toby doesn’t like the yellow light they produce and some people say that they develop holes. I’m not getting holes on mine. The yellow color doesn't bother me so much as the holes that develop on burn in or shortly after light-up 😕 Hard to beat Peerless for ruggedness. Agreed, ...

Kevin, I just measured one of my Coleman shades and it’s as follows:
Top opening is just over 8”
Bottom opening is 13”
Height is just over 8”
Look for one that the spider is at the top of the shade and the rods are crimped into the center ring and not soldered.
Good luck!

Those are a very nice addition to your collection and it’s cool that you have a 220 and a 228. Write down the history of those as you know it so the story stays with the lanterns.

You mentioned a major discount was available so sounds like you can get it for less than the asking price. The shade is desirable as mentioned above so if I saw that for a major discount off of $130, I’d be looking real hard at purchasing the lamp.

Nice find, Craig. The mica chimney looks similar to the one I found on an early Coleman Air-O-Lantern from around 1918. Not sure of the date on the Nulite but yes to getting it working and no to repainting. That’s my opinion. 😁
