Is it possible to clean a somewhat corroded F/A tube without disassembly? Maybe some sort of strong solvent like acetone or MEK mixed say, 5% with the fuel itself and operate as normal. I kind of doubt it, but I can't be the first to wonder.

While they probably aren't "adjustable" as such, if the accuracy is off some careful tweaking of the thermometer spring arm a time or two compared against an accurate standard would get it calibrated well enough.

Those with long memories can recall a similar or related effect, carburetor icing. The right (or wrong) combination of altitude, humidity, and temperature, and you've got a problem. Especially bad in aircraft, because you can't get out and push.
