Re: Astronomical prices on things.

Even cheapy propane lanterns have gone up.....My biggest issue is trying not to offend local collectors with prices on lanterns or other forms of GPA's, trying to be fair to both the buyer and me the seller, many times I've sold tough to find lanterns knowing full well they're worth far more monetar...

Re: Older battery powered lanterns holy crap!

You think that’s bad, I have one of the Rayo-vac sportsmen lanterns that takes 4 of those 6V batteries. It lasted for several years though using it in the attic and emergencies, but then I dropped it and busted the battery compartment. Still works but looks terrible. Making a rechargeable battery w...

I found a 408 early on when I started collecting about 7 years ago, IIRC the fount had issues and needed sealed or replaced, I let it go with other lanterns rather than mess with it.

Looks good, but wondering what's holding the engine mounting board to the plastic container?

Re: DIY under-table heater

Judging by what you stated in the making process, you leave the globe off?, have you tried it with the globe on as well to see if it still works as well?

Re: I don’t know much about outboards, but I was looking at something like this for a project.

I own two Evinrude Lightwin 3 HP outboards, one is from '55 the other IIRC is from '62, they work well on my vintage Starcraft 12' aluminum fishing boat, I guess what I like best about these is the fuel tank is built within the motor so I don't need to drag along a fuel tank as well. I do bring a on...

Re: 2021 finds of the year thread

2021 was my best year ever Lantern collecting. Most of my best additions came from other local collectors and I had some really good fines on marketplace and craigslist too. This is my best truly in the wild fine this year and it’s not even GPA. It’s an original Aladdin 202 shade I bought at an est...
