Black Friday Flea Market Find

Picked up two 220E (1/60 & 2/58) at the local flea market today. The globe on the 58 has the green Sunshine logo, kinda faint but is stil fairly visible, the first of its kind in my collection. The frame on the 60 is broken, I have another I'll put on to make it whole again. With these two and anoth...

2 very important rules:
Dont overfill the pot with oil.
Don't put a frozen turkey in the pot.
Or a dripping wet bird. Allow the bird to drain well.
Nice 228, "E"?
Thank you, yes 228E 01/53.

Re: Hello 911! This guy on Facebook is about to need a fire truck, maybe an ambulance as well!

I've been frying turkeys for over 25 years and never had an incident. I'm frying at the edge of my deck just in case, because you never know, and if it does burn, would give me the excuse to build a new one. But I also take precautions when cooking. Dont overfill the pot with oil. Never put a turkey...

Double 200A lantern find on OfferUp

My name is Robert, and I’m a lanternaholic. $40 cash money got me two lanterns today, 1/71 & 11/74. No globes, one missing fuel cap. Thinking I'll be flipping these. Your thoughts, would it be worth getting the cap and globes first? Or should I just get em cleaned up and running? I'm new to this, I ...

Re: Target deal - 285 insane price

My problem was trying to have one shipped to a POBox. Due to cookies and stupid computer stuff, I was able to order one using a different browser. Going to give it to my 14yr old son for Christmas. Maybe this will be the start of a new obsession for him 🤔

Re: Target deal - 285 insane price

It appears since Coleman went back to the metal pump cap they are clearing out the old stock with the plastic ones. I love the price and the fact that it comes with a case. Very hard to pass up, but I will attempt to resist this Target temptation.

Re: Ebay purchase

I’ve had good luck on eBay so far. Bought a B46 530 clean & complete and was willing to pay just over $100 for it. A next to new 288700A with case for a reasonable price. I got the best deals (and most fun) picking pieces from garage sales, Craigslist, offer up, and thrift stores.

Re: WTB in PNW

Are you looking for projects or runners? I have several lanterns that are cleaned up and running, one that I’ve assessed and set aside, and two that have not been started yet. I can send pics of what I’m willing to part with.

Also, I’m located South Puget Sound. Willing to meet Northgate area.

Love the stories behind the revivals! Great work there. To keep flaming down I preheat the generator with a torch. Just be careful not to overheat it.

@TwoCanoes, I came so close during a summer road trip to making a stop in Ellensberg and picking up a mint Coleman Mil Spec lantern. I thought better of it and saved my cash just in case of a breakdown on the trip.

Re: 200A from OfferUp

You are correct, Lines. I began my Coleman journey in 2020 (lockdown hobby) with restoring a 413G a neighbor put on the roadside free pile. I now have 15 lanterns (one is a SMP mil spec), 4 suitcase stoves, 5 single burner stoves, and 2 catalytic heaters. These things seem to multiply on their own w...

200A from OfferUp

I’ve been searching for my first 200A for about a year. After several missed opportunities due to timing/logistics, and for lanterns in various states of disrepair or condition, I happened across this one on OfferUp located 3 min from my home. For $60 I got a pristine 10/1971 200A, maybe lit once. I...
