Re: Waaaaay OT, Snow White......

Thanks guys. We are "free" for a lot of good reasons, I write our stuff, the school district lets me use the theatres almost for free. The old gal mentioned above does our printing for almost free. My wife does the costumes with thrift store stuff we have collected over the decades. Libby is a worki...

Re: Waaaaay OT, Snow White......

Check your spelling of "magnificent." You don't want a flyer to go out with a misspelling! Thanks for that, and yes, it has been corrected! This was an early one. And I had sent the info to the printer spelled correctly, and she goofed. Neat old gal runs a tiny print shop, I've used her for decades.

Small engine carbs looked just like that in the 70's, waaaay before corn squeezin.

I almost never pull the carb, just drop the float bowl and clean. One bolt.

Re: Small engine help needed - Please

That has a carb with float bowl on bottom, should come off with one bolt (right on bottom, X in diagram). The jet is also usually in that bolt you remove, just a tiny hole. Clean float bowl (usually water and debris) and find jet (tiny) and clean it. You will want to shoot carb cleaner (got glasses ...

Re: Horses seized

I had a mustang from Oregon. He was the ugliest, most sure-footed horse I ever had.
His name was Alpo.

Tough to feed and take care of 21 horses.

Jusst FYI that product info states "Resists leakage, vibration loosening, moisture, hydraulic fluids and diesel fuels" no mention of gasoline (or CF) Most silicone products are not suitable for RUG.

Those preheat cups need to be FULL of alcohol. If not well heated, you will have issues.

Re: Abuse and neglect

I've got a 413D sitting on my porch that looks a lot like that. It's a tool, and it's job is to cook outside occasionally. I oil the pump cup about once a year, and I painted the tank 4-5 years ago to help control the rust.

Re: 228H Dying Out

You're next step should not be a complete teardown.

Has it got plenty of fuel?
Spin tip cleaner several times, this cleans the tip.
Like the gentleman above said, when it dies, (give it a moment to cool) remove fuel cap and see if still pressure in font.

Re: 427 leaky check valve

The snorkel would be clear. You say you can pump it up, so snorkel is clear. We already know that.

One last time, you need to put it back together, pump it up, fill pump tube with water and see what bubbles. That is the test you need to do!

Best of luck with your lantern.

I worked for British Leyland in the 70's.

Do you know why the British drink warm beer?

They had Lucas refrigerators.
