Re: Stovie eye candy, unfired Swedish stoves

I hate unfired models, like others, hard if impossible to fire them up. I've used a couple others, an aluminum Optimus 8 and my 199. The aluminum 8 reflected some very cool colors as it warmed up the first time.

Wow! All works of art! I love the color of the 8F's case and the silent burner of the Hiker. Congrats on all. The nickel is beautiful on the 8F, but I'm really digging the case color. Any idea what a good color match would be for that 8F's case? Jim, I've never needed to use that color blue nor rea...

Stovie eye candy, unfired Swedish stoves

My unfired Swedish stoves, I have a couple MSR stoves also that are not fired. Just got the Optimus 80F, none to be seen anywhere, then within a day two more appeared. Only three I have seen. The 111C was gifted to me by my late Idaho stovie friend, Sam. I tried to refuse as I already had one that w...

Try on a fired globe. Randy used some bad acid and it failed, maybe because it was tried on a used globe.

Mesh screen diameter for 200A burner cap?

Working on a 200A I got off of FishnChips, cleaned up parts, but the two pieces of light screen material fell out, tried working them back on, but they were made of pretty light weight material and started coming apart. The cap is just rough enough to not want to accept what is left of the two piece...

Sweden is where I have found some really rare stoves. I think all three of my Campus stoves came from there, Great Britain has been a major source. A couple really rare Primus 96 stoves have come from here in the USA, the last a never seen AG year code for 1942.

Stove works like all my stoves. Many of these early stoves had no way to regulate them, on or off, that was it. To turn off you blew the flame out or smothered it. Chain is attached to the handle. The travel cap on the end of the chain replaces the burner bell when the fount has fuel in it when tran...
