Memorial Day burn

I saw someone mention on here yesterday or the day before (sorry I can’t remember or find who said it to give them credit) something about lighting your military lanterns tomorrow for Memorial Day. I think that is a great idea whether it’s a military lantern or not, let’s light them up tomorrow. I j...

Re: Burnin’ one

A fantastic way to relax. Very peaceful. This is the payoff moment after finding an old lantern, getting it for the right price (or having it passed down from family), and bringing it back to life.

Re: What is it?

to me this is a typical fishing expedition. You looked it up and you knew what you had but pretended you didn't know. Now the offers are flooding in And to me, you are completely wrong. I had no idea what it was even called to be able to look it up before I was told here. And now, even after knowin...

Re: What is it?

I bought the lot of 7 lanterns mostly for the 202 that can be seen in the background. There was also a 1958 military lantern in there that I wanted because it had the wrench in it still. This infrared monster was thrown in almost as an afterthought. If it would have raised the price any, I wouldn’t ...

What is it?

I purchased this today in a lot of other lanterns. Found in a barn in southern Oklahoma. Does anyone know what this is? There is a lantern inside that is a 1950’s Coleman 200A. It looks like it started out red and was painted black. There are 2 globes. An inner and an outer. It weighs around 15 to 2...

Re: What Shade Do I Need?

I know this isn’t very much information, but I also know you guys are good. A friend sent this lamp to me to get going for him. I have no idea what shade it needs or even what model it is. Stamped 5 6 on the bottom so I’m guessing it’s a 06-25 year? Does it need a globe and then any store bought sh...

Re: My deal of the year

Wow! What a great story to go along with one of Coleman’s best designed lanterns. I would take it to deer camp. It’s a tough little lantern, but that’s just me. Lol! You guys are starting to talk me into it. I just got it yesterday and we are leaving for camp this Thursday morning. I probably have ...

Re: My deal of the year

It is my first 242. I love this little lantern so far though. My uncle was an antique collector of hunting and fishing items. They are moving and decided to get rid of a lot of things. I ended up with this, 4 old Winchester metal flashlights, an old Coleman propane heater, old Coleman white gas heat...

My deal of the year

Coleman 242C. 12/48. Sunshine globe. Bought it for $10. Checked it over well, pumped it up, and lit it. Burned it for over 2 hrs with no issues. Looks like it’s going to clean up pretty nice.

Pricing Advise

I need some help putting a fair price on a 200A dated 11-80. It has been disassembled and cleaned and a new decal added. It runs very well. How do I value it fairly and what are some things I need to make sure a buyer is aware of about it?

It took awhile, but I figured out how to post a pic. I still need to add a decal and find the correct valve wheel. I may keep this one for awhile as a learner. I appreciate the above responses.

Porcelain Coatings

I’m new to the lantern world, sort of. I’ve used them most of my life, but I’ve recently gotten interested in restoring them. I purchased a 1951 A 220D at a resale shop for $5 awhile back. It was in very bad shape. Rusted, dented, bent frame, chipped porcelain, dirty, etc. While I was repairing it I...
