I had that issue with one of my 242's. I replaced the eccentric block and cleaning lever. It still doesn't feel right but it works. In the future I will replace the entire valve body or whatever it is called.

That is awesome. You could add a counterbalance where the valve body threads into the fount. An old casino chip might look cool for a valve wheel.

Hope you get it sorted out. Those are fun lanterns when they are running right. I have had similar results when I didn't preheat long enough.

Sounds like a good plan. I haven't been out your way for several years. I may need a road trip before winter gets here. There was a person out around there that made flint lock rifle stocks that I contacted several years ago. I never got around to making that happen.

I see far too many "hard to find" things there. I must be blessed. Could they be, not that hard to find? You could swing a dead animal and hit many of those "hard to find" items.
