I have a build up of a thick, oily material on the shaft to which the knob attaches. Is there a seal that I may need to replace or is this normal? Thanks. My wife doesn't mind cooking on any of the outdoor stoves when we camp, however as for ovens she would recommend anything as long as it is attached to at least 30ft of camper!

The center pin was positive ( the diagram on the supply shows this) so a simple current pass thru test on the snipped off end will comfirm which is which. Most that I have used the stripe is positive tho

That gives it the old miltitary SNAFU repair for just under FUBAR damage😉

Normal solder would hold, but silver has a higher tensil strength on the final repair and should hold better under a high fount pressure.

You can make your own humidifiers with green floral foam, and the 'special' juice they sell to put in them is simply Propolene glycol and distilled water mixed 50/50.
