Re: Ordered a New Powerhouse & Ugh!

I bought a 285 from them last year and it came in with the same dented frame rest- it is from how they place the funnel in the box. I contacted them by email and just asked for a new rest, they said they not only didn't have any to send but didn't have any more 285s to replace it with. They sent me ...

Re: Horses seized

One of the nicest ladies you would ever meet was arrested near us 2 years ago- 150 plus counts. She wouldn't say no to anyone dropping off an animal, from a cat to a horse or cow, and almost 100 had to be euthenized by the time authorities became involved.

Truely sad

I liberaly coat everything with Chemical Guys Heavy Metal polish rubbed in with 0000 steel wool then buffed with a 1" cotton wheel on a dremel. My heavy users may need redoing once a year or so

Re: Red Paint for 425C Tank

I've degreased 9 red tanks, from 1958 to 1990's, and all started losing the paint no matter if I used a heavy degreaser or simply water and dish soap. It's funny that the lantern founts and even the stove suitcases don't do that

Re: Advice -- newer or older stove?

I have two 413Gs, and for the right price would add a 3rd.....and would buy the 414 since I don't have one....but if I could ONLY buy one of the two you mention I would buy which ever was cheapest! But yeah, if they are both cheap I would still get both😝 What's the "right price" and in what cosmeti...

The common and the uncommon

I spent today playing with a couple of the yardsale finds my wife brought me home Sat. The first was a barely used 3-1993 285 that is in wonderful condition on the outside and has a like new generator, but needed a globe. The bad is it was stored full of RUG and needed a thorough cleaning of the fou...

Re: Your 220K "Common" is now over 40

I've had my 11-1982 220K for right around 30 years now and it has been used and abused, and when it finally needed a new generator led me to finding this place and start collecting. It has always been reliable and while it may not look like much I'll never get rid of it. https://i.postimg.cc/XYWq4mP...

You'll need to show more pictures to help narrow it down- they were made from 1965 to 1980. I have a 1973 and a 1979 myself

I've bought from them 4 times in the past year, each time I received my order within a week and have had nothing but good experiences. Twice I ordered from the 'bay and twice straight from them direct.

Re: 228H Dying Out

Drain the fuel and see if it is full of chunks of fount liner. Yours is the right age to be losing it and the pieces clogging the fuel pickup would also cause your symptoms, including moving off the pickup when you slosh it around.

Re: 335 Kero conversion calamity

While you're cleaning that gunk out, go ahead and put the FA tube back in it. That way you get true multifuel operation, you can run kerosene with a preheat or CF/gas instant lighting. I've done the 335 kerosene conversion myself, never even took the lantern apart to do it. +1 I've done 6 conversio...

Re: 228H Dying Out

First you have to fiqure out WHY it did this- does it still have pressure in the fount and at least 1/3 fount of fuel. ALWAYS start with the simple things. Next time it starts to die either let it or shut it down, then open the cap and see how much pressure is in it. If it is under 1/4 of a fount fi...

Re: Paint stripe wrinkle

How soon after the other piece was painted did you spray the clear?

I've had a few enamal based paints where the overcoat window was under 5 days or over 30- you either had to coat it before it lost the solvents or after the final cure was done.

Re: Coleman 426D Towel Holder?

I’m thinking that paper towel holder is homemade. Convenient, nonetheless. How’s the stove look? Agreed, the hooks and chain mounts are all simply straightened links and the 'shelf' looks very much like the divider that went in an old galvanized lined cooler I used to have. A drill, a couple of pop...
