Re: Went camping of sorts

Looks like a great time! As a kid making Jiffypop was the highlight of most camping trips, my wife and I still make it at least once a trip for S&G.

Re: Frustrated, and then...

Y'know what, the more i think about the deal that i got, lack of the space much less the time in life for non-working projects, that ALSO left a bad taste in my mouth...i'm going to ditch their bad juju altogether and give 'em away. A 220 and 242. If your really thinking of something this drastic, ...

Re: 1925 & 1960 lanterns

Welcome from Central Virginia, those are a couple of nice pieces. We don't give values here, you can check certian auction sites at sold items and get an idea to guide you, tho I'm sure quite a few will be hoping you eventually offer them here!

Re: 220j and 242c recondition

Welcome from Central Virginia- post some pictures of what you have (we like pics here) and list any known issues and we'll quickly have you fixing these up yourself!

Both of those are easy to work on and will be great runners! Oh, did I mention we like pictures!

Re: 1989 288 fuel pickup

There should be a black plastic 'button' that went in the valve under the metal ecentric- it presses the schrader to open it. Look around where you took it apart at and see if you have it laying around. You can see the piece in the 1st 2 pics in this thread https://www.colemancollectorsforum.com/vie...

Re: March 1958 220 ID

If it lighting properly, ie the lighting at 1/4 turn, then any flickering is most likely the generator. Not always, but most of the time, any issue requiring cleaning the F/A tube is it being clogged and the instant light feature not working. I agree with Dan on the paint and decal- that looks to be...

Re: Herm Johnson's Coleman Jug?

Wierd, 2 hrs after seeing this post I'm looking thru FBMP and Wills 1st picture is in someones ad with a $50 buy it now and $9.95 shipping. I have my setting to NOT show anything not local to me and FB ignores that constantly, and being a very satisfied customer of Wills I know he isn't local to me😆

Re: check valve newbie question

Sounds like it is working like it should. They don't seal 100% until you screw the stem in, that is the actual seal. All the check valve is there for is to hold the pressure back in between pumps and the stem does the rest when you close it.

Re: March 1958 220 ID

A couple of my heavily used E's looked like that when I got them- the brass airtube and burner tubes are heavily pitted and were coated in carbon just like yours is. I ran them in my ultrasonic cleaner in a hot citric acid bath for 15 minutes and then cleaned them with 0000 steel wool and a 1" felt ...
