Re: Anyone have and use a butane griddle?

Thanks for the pictures, seeing the burner design and size really helps. I might have to look into one of those for myself and I'm going to send the link to my RV buddy

Those are some sweet finds, that grasshopper is cool and a good condition jug in box is great! That propane adapter is probably why the tank was seperated from the 413, glad you found the tank.

For my Optimus I bought a clear borasilicate candle globe from Amazon for $12. You could always get someone to sandblast the lettering if you can't find an original.

When Dan is drooling it must really be good! I'd be all over it but $1,800 in vet bills in two months means no GPA funds over $20 for a long while....

Re: OT— ham or GMRS radio benefits

And to the other comment about a marine radio license, you don't need one operating in US waters. In my case since I navigate only in Canadian waters by the cottage in my US-registered boat I had to get a Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit. There was no test, just a one-time fee for a lifeti...

Re: 2024 CCF Garage/Yard/Estate Sale Thread

Picked this up from a FBMP ad tonight, turned out to be 5 min down the road from me. An 08-92 285 in so-so condition for $15, but I felt the non Coleman globe was worth that. https://i.postimg.cc/0N9v7rxZ/20240419-193401.jpg I have a few correct size globes in clear or amber for it, and once I dump ...

Re: OT— ham or GMRS radio benefits

Hmm... I guess Wallowa County didn't get the memo. No one I know has a license and there are lots of them in use. It's not just there- my dads have never been licensed and almost no one I know with a set has ever bothered with it either. Hell, out here people still run CB base stations with 200amp ...

Re: OT— ham or GMRS radio benefits

Pacho is correct, GMRS is a licensed frequency set. https://www.fcc.gov/wireless/bureau-divisions/mobility-division/general-mobile-radio-service-gmrs I have an older set that my father bought years ago, he used them to keep in contact with my stepmother while out in the woods hunting or cutting wood...

Re: Yesterdays accidental cooler discovery

While on this topic. I can get a Coleman "Pink" cooler from the 50's. Is this a collectible item? I have a pink "picnic" stove to go along with it. Of you have a pinkie to go with it, of course it's collectable! In my collecting I am finding that I am more into have a group of period items, such as...

Re: Anyone have and use a butane griddle?

When you get one Jim show us the burner under the griddle, I'm curious if it spreads the heat more evenly or is just the standard burner under the griddle. I have a 1980's Chef Mate stove, which is a rebranded Coleman unit but have never cooked on it. A RVing buddy has another brand stove and uses i...

To maintain my hand strength I keep one of these on the end table next to my recliner & work it in both hands for few minutes every day. https://prohands.net/products/pro They can be had cheaper if you shop around & come in several different resistance levels. I do it mostly for guitar but they wor...
