Re: Akron iron air stem

Thank you for that, I am guessing that the Coleman iron stem was too small and the Coleman lamp stem is a different type of thread

Akron iron air stem

Do the Akron model 2 irons share a common air steam with either the Coleman irons, or lamps or are they proprietary to Akron? I find a lot of the time the irons are missing that part and wondering how hard it would be to find a replacement https://i.postimg.cc/FRgDgXSL/IMG-7711.jpg https://i.postimg...

Re: Nulite, Nuproblems - torch lite taper thread woes

So I was able to get the threads cleaned up with a die but when I pound out the packing it flared out so now I have a tube with a taper end and a straight end that the burner or the valve won’t Screw in, so is there a way to cut a taper without a lathe, Like maybe with a adjustable die, or should I ...

That is a neat looking lamp, reminds me of 40s-50s Swedish Lamps.
That new style nut had me doing a double take, weird to see a hex nut in a quick lite lamp

Re: Nulite, Nuproblems - torch lite won’t pass fuel

So it is definitely not a standard die size, my thread gauge Reads 40 teeth per inch with a taper, don’t have a die in that size for something with that large of a diameter.
The end that I was driving out the packing from the Thread became finer and the Diameter wider

Re: Nulite, Nuproblems - torch lite won’t pass fuel

I found two pieces of cast iron rod filling the void below the asbestos packing in my Coleman. I suspect it had been one piece and got dropped and broken. It fits pretty close to the inside diameter of the generator. Takes up space and stiffens the brass tubing. Correct me if I am wrong, but I am b...

Re: Nulite, Nuproblems - torch lite won’t pass fuel

I got the generator off the valve and found a big empty space on the other side, there was no Rod or wire loop down there, it’s hard to photograph it

I think I will message Steve in the morning, and might try driving out the packing tomorrow
