In 1954(?) Coleman came out with the 202 Professional which gave us back the nickel founts in the U.S. until 1963 (if you don't count the later 201 Kero).

Yeah, I use Klean-Heat for the round wickies, and it is almost totally odorless indoors, if I do my part and use a new wick or one that hasn't been previously contaminated with the stinky stuff. Yes, the 24A is an elongated design while the 111 is bulbous, more like a ball.
I use the 111's when I want to get heat further down the generator for more even heat distribution.

More crud in the burner assembly I'm afraid. My best guess.
When I've had that happen it was tiny specs of crusty kero coked up there. If that is a possibility with yours, you might want to pull the assy and boil it, then scrub the inner parts again.

The 639 gen also fits these, same orifice dia. too. It is .010 shorter. Shouldn't be a problem.
As stated above, you might want to hand onto the original gen nut.

Most of Coleman's current gens have all metal parts, "springs" or coils sometimes one sometimes two and a pricker rod of course, from what I've seen.
Yes, the 290 and 295 gens have the same length and same dia. of the body, top, and bottom.
