Re: Pearl Harbor ... December 7, 1941

I think this and every Dec 7th should be the day all military contracts get renewed for all of our weapons factories. We used to stay on top of this because we never wanted to be caught flat footed as on this day so many years ago, but have slacked off, especially lately. Better to have weapons you ...

Re: Pricker rod crimper

Kevin Whitegas, I have tried both four sided and six sided D-sub crimpers. The four sided ones do work to pinch a wire into the K&S tubing, but I have to grind each one on a diamond wheel to get the taper needed to fit into a gas tip. The six sided ones were the the type I had good hopes for, but si...

Yes, I did a how-to on making prickers and to crimp the end of the pricker rod around the pricker wire I used a drill chuck. Actually a big drill chuck. That works quite well for the occasional pricker, and I did the how-to using tools that non machinists would have, but when you have to do a few hu...

Yes, I got one and forgot to report on it. They don't work for what we need. Does not get any where near at all to the point where it will hold in a wire for the...

I agree with the earlier post about the "junk yard dog". A couple of "friendly" pits or dobies may be the best defense. Your fence keeps the dogs in, and the dogs keep the vermin out.
