Hi Dick; Hope things are going well. Regarding the graphite ribbon,I know it is a little slippery to work with, and sometimes I get a little fumble-fingered trying to get it to work. What the heck is the spec on the crimp? +/- .050? Poor wee-todd-it soul.
Beat him about the head and shoulders then drag him over to the crimper and show him how it works. That kind of stuff can get people killed. 3000 PSI oil coming out of a small hole will penetrate your body.

Toby's pics show the 502 getting quite hot, although maybe there is just not a lot of heat to go around. I.E., a 500 has a larger generator and a different air intake. However, those 502s in Toby's pic show all of them heating the steel grates to red hot. That's around 1600 degrees. There's just not...

No, won't cause any problems. Lots of them are like that. There doesn't have to be a positive seal at the top of the F/A tube for the design to work. After all, it has a hole drilled just below the crimp on that air tube that is spinning. Don't worry about it, though I can see how it would seem worr...

I think they used steel screws for the majority of the 530 stoves because steel is about 1/4 the price of brass, and they used those screws by the millions. You know they made a LOT of 530 stoves in just a couple years. Some accountant got a bonus on that one.
