That is a good idea, I have already changed that valve once, and original parts are not available here in Norway at all, and the customs charges $35 for each parcel just for looking at it, and on top of that we get the vat +++.

I use denaturated alcohol, even that makes soot, but adding 20% metanol, and it burns soot-free.

I do have only 1 Coleman kerosene lamp, the lamp is marked 249 Scout and stamped 7 and 5 under the fount. I find that one much more difficult to use than my more modern white gas stoves, so would rather like to use white gas on this one, but I'm not sure if it is safe to just fill up with white gas ...

Tried with my tank/generator from my 413E (only the right tab fits the case) and it burns pretty much better with this, no red flames.

That is what I use, and that seems to be equal to What Geir use. (and buy it for approx 1/3 of coleman fuel)
This stuff is what was on the recommendation list from Primus together with Coleman fuel until they started to sell their own stuff. (pure heptane)

Bad translation from Norwegian, looks like lugs are the right word. The connector clamped on the wire e.g. on the alternator or starter motor in a car.
