Feuerhand has been around a while. According to their website, since 1893. It appears they only have one wickie currently in production, the Baby Special 276, which has been in production for over 100 years according to their website. Re: Military lanterns 252a
The main obvious difference is the generator being so far away from the mantle. If you have it pumped up a lot, you'll flow fuel too fast for it to get heated and begin vaporization in a decent amount of time. It was written up here a while back that Coleman didn't believe a lantern could run on lea...

Reese,
I was not speculating whether or not this could happen, it did. Try it for yourself.
The fuel didn't fill the tube and then pour out, but sprayed out of the hole at the end of the pump plunger. I'd estimate the spray was at least three feet in distance each time. Again, try it.

I don't know if these ALL come apart the same, but hold the fount between your legs, grab the catalytic element at the base and unscrew it (counter-clockwise).
Before going this route, did you follow Coleman's procedure for cleaning the catalytic head?

Glad to see that people are able to get the vax!
Unfortunately, there's a loophole in New Jersey that's allowing perfectly healthy 20 and 30 year olds to get the vax ahead of the seniors that really need it. Among other listed ailments, you only need to claim you're a smoker to be qualified.

I can't imagine that it would matter how you got air into the fount, but know that the check valve is designed to stop air, not liquid. I can't say that I admire the collection. They may be nice, but they're virtually all display only. Admittedly, I skipped around, but in what I viewed, ignoring that they didn't have kero in them, saw only two with mantles, and only one of those was unfired.
