Hi Jim, yes it is. I'll give it a clean up and likely polish up the brass a bit. Should look pretty tidy when done.

@Pancho - I find it really odd that DNA is banned where you are. If they tried that in Switzerland they'd need public vote as pretty well all fondu sets here use it... @Steve - as a guess I poured DNA into a ring around the centre column and it seemed to work. No-Name alcohol stove find

Was travelling back through France and stopped at 'brocante' with heaps of junk outside - eg piles of old rusty cast iron pots, etc. Anyway, spotted this alcohol stove for €5 and could not leave it behind. After fixing a small leak between the tank and tube it runs well with a nice controllable flam...

I figure if I have enough space then there is no need to scale back.
At least this is what I tell my wife, who has a different perspective.
I'm not as bad as some of you though, I only have just under 150 lanterns and close to 20 stoves.

Really nice bike. The old military bikes are popular here. In fact, the army still rides bikes AFAIK!
Saw this one in a shop last year, a bit pricey though! Looks like the brakes work directly on the tyres.

That flame looks good to me as well, but I only have 2 x 502's. But I agree with others that it's not the best boiler. If I'm car travelling and know I want a brew, then I pack the 533 which, despite the lack of wind shield, seems to do a way faster job of boiling. I guess you also lose heat around ...
