This was in the NC mountains. What made it funny to me is my wife was one of the first females in our combat unit. She did everything we did and didn't agree with changing standards for women. She was a M79 Gunner a M203 gunner and a Saw gunner. Watching her shoot, I fell in love. It took me two yea...

I was talking with a retired game warden. He told about an arrest he made years ago. A Vietnam Vet had smuggled a 40mm M79 home after his tour. He was using it to keep bears off his mountain property. Funny and sad at the same time.

Would it be more cost effective to purchase a new frame? You didn't say what kind of lantern. Would the cost of the spot welder be more than lantern? If you have more than one use, I'd say go for it. A tool can always be used, if not in the hobby on other things around the house. So it's kind of up ...

I use older user lanterns as runners for camping and fishing. I also use lanterns on my back porch most nights. A 285 is in that rotation. Short is if it's a runner, No matter what lantern I throw a pre-heat cup on it and no drama. My main camp lantern is usually a 639 or 295, a couple of 220s or 20...

Has anyone successfully rebuilt a 8326 Generator? I searched and didn't find anything. I found one in my parts box, that I destroyed the spring and packing years ago. I plan on making a spring and packing with brass wool. Also does the tip come off on these? I don't want to damage it.

Re: Old tape
You can soak a rag in hot water and lay it over the adhesive and it will soften it. You may have to do it more than once, but it won't damage the paint. If that is what your trying to accomplish. If you have a steamer it will do the same thing but you have to be careful.

Over burning the mantle and black spots usually mean to much fuel/or non-vaporized fuel. Are you using the original gen? The tip maybe to large. This can happen when cleaning.
