Another thought since the performance difference between the stoves, do the valve stems in the valve assemblies have the double thread setup similar to some Coleman valves? If so, then possibly the valve in original stove needs to be rotated 180 deg. to get a little more travel of the orifice needle.

Go easy on the vent nut as some have said a tight nut might cause enamel cracking around the vent stud hole during thermal expansion and contraction.

I remember thinking when they were cheap "If those were picket fence globes, I would buy a couple". Since the globes were "aftermarket", if the value gets above $50, there are globe crafts persons that probably can make more.

You might try to gently close the crack some by putting it in a vise and gently squeezing it together. That might get the threads back to a more normal fit and bite. A couple of years back OCP had globes similar to that (maybe the same) and the prices were not much more than regular globes (maybe on sale), so the value may vary.

As others have said, I'd suggest you give the lantern and stove a good wipe down, then focus on seeing if they will operate as is. You don't want to fall into the sometimes trap of "fixing" things that are not really broken.

I'd fire it up again at the house and pay close attention to the issue to see if it is still there. Has the stove been taken apart prior to the issue? Reinstalling burner rings incorrectly might result in flame issues.

A low overhead thing to do might be to use black electrical tape around the bottom rim with maybe half folded under the rim edge to the inside to protect the rim edge from being scratched.

Just s as side note on the smaller aluminum fuel bottles, I have a screw cap aluminum beer bottle I'm going to put a little fuel in and see if it will seal good over a period of time. The beer bottle shape should facilitate easy refueling of the smaller tank stoves and lanterns.
