Close the valve, pump it up 40 pumps or so, and then listen closely to see if it's hissing. If it's hissing, then the Schrader valve core is leaking, which means that when youre pumping, you're actually pumping fuel into the generator. That will cause a flooding situation. I display most of my lanterns and stoves on wire rack/shelves. But, I built these cabinets and mantles with quartersawn oak and oak plywood. The number of lanterns up top varies by season and latest use.
