Re: Undated M1950 Type Single Burner Stove

That's pretty interesting. I have never seen that information. Although, some points seem a bit confused, as I believe that the Model 1950 was not available in the 1940s, and I've not seen any reference to Aladdin being the first manufacturer. Coleman made the stove in the 1950s, 1960 and 1970s. For...

Re: Fire Ball 400a

You don't need to do anything about those pads. Spitting fuel and air is normal when the valve is opened. The plastic F/A tube has a tiny hole for fuel pickup and the hole for the air mix is up high. So, it'll sputter like that. So...it doesn't really appear to be a cracked F/A tube at this point, o...

I’ve used this stove for years, never really counted pumps, always pumped it up, lit, let the generator heat until it begins to settle down, then pump it up until it’s blue and steady, usually just by sound I know it’s running right, never a problem until now, it rides in a padded bag in my truck t...

Re: Fire Ball 400a

Well, it sounds like a sudden burst of raw fuel, given that you already had a blue flame. So, why would it do that? Did you pump additional air after the inital 25 pumps? Although I've never seen a plastic F/A tube fail, I guess that could be a possibility. Did you try firing it again to see if it i...

Re: Fire Ball 400a

Close the valve, pump it up 40 pumps or so, and then listen closely to see if it's hissing. If it's hissing, then the Schrader valve core is leaking, which means that when youre pumping, you're actually pumping fuel into the generator. That will cause a flooding situation. The valve core would need ...

I'm no expert on these, but is it possible that it's a Rogers that someone put Coleman decals on? Asking for my own education more than anything. I've never seen a Coleman catalog, and have never seen any non-military photos of an M-1950 until SMP made them in the 1980s. Re: Undated M1950 Type Single Burner Stove

The red warning decals didn't show up until the 1960s and the 1950s windscreens had a crosshatch (Coleman) or stippled (Rogers) pattern so users could light matches on them. They were smooth beginning in the 1960s. Canon Joe told me once, a long time ago, that there were 1960s M-1950s stoves that we...
