Re: New Preway 2-burner stove gas tip

Another thought since the performance difference between the stoves, do the valve stems in the valve assemblies have the double thread setup similar to some Coleman valves? If so, then possibly the valve in original stove needs to be rotated 180 deg. to get a little more travel of the orifice needl...

Re: New Preway 2-burner stove gas tip

I looked at my four Preway stoves which use this similar generator. The measurements are pretty close on everything, but not exactly the same. So, if you measure one gas tip and then begin making the part and before you're finished you take a measurement on another gas tip, it could result in an err...

Re: New Preway 2-burner stove gas tip

The needle is tapered on the end. In fact, the 4821 wire has part of the tip broken off, but oddly it works pretty good like this. When looking at the original tip I think it's worn out.

I think there still may be room for improvement here.

I just swapped this new tip onto the P4821 wedge stove and it works very well, dialing it way down. So, something is up with the 4521 tank/generator.

Alrighty . . . I made another gas tip, but this time I used a .45mm, which I managed to break but the broken piece could still be used. So now, I have much better flame control. Unfortunately, the stove is acting weird, so I'll try a different stove next.

Re: New Preway 2-burner stove gas tip

I just tested it on a P4521 "wedge" stove. It doesn't appear to have any leaks, however, like my other wedge stoves, it doesn't have much of a flame control. It's either high or really high. After it cools I'll look at the needle thickness on a couple of Preway stoves and then compare to the hole I ...

First, let me correct my statement previously that the thread size is 8-32. It is not. It is 10-32. https://i.postimg.cc/fLQGZ25R/20220524-182908.jpg O...

I used my 1937 Preway 409 a couple weekends ago and the pump kept "slipping" even though I had just oiled the leather. So, today I thought it would be a good idea to give it a once-over in preparation for its next outing. This is one of my favorite 2-burner stoves. https://i.postimg.cc/G2sq9bpn/2022...
