Same here. It’s in a handy to get to place should we lose power in the dark. It can be easily lit, no fumbling around for matches or a lighter. Plenty of other choices to fire up after that.

I've seen single mantle (200/242) burner caps on Leacock burners which are essentially 220F burners. They work just fine, mantles fill out nice because of the larger diameter cap. They look weird because that's not what we're used to.

A work friend kept his Manx parked at my place for a couple years in SoCal. That big metal flake finish was very popular on them. They were a fun machine for sure. Between the Manx and all the Baja Bug kits, a lot of VW beetles were modified. I'll go crack a cold one now...

Late to the party here. Toby, glad the burner arrived in good spirits. The lamp looks great! I like that shade on it. Concerning the Leacock fuel pick up tube, it's a one piece pipe brazed into the fount, so not easily removed. I'm not sure how much pressure those founts will hold without deforming,...

If it's a good runner, put 200/242 burner caps on it. I've seen Leacock lamps (basically 220F burners) set up this way. The mantles fill out more fully because of the bigger diameter cap.

They actually used new 290 founts to make that version. The owner told me he isn't currently offering them set up like that because he can no longer get the 290 founts from Coleman. A current example of hollow generators would be those produced by HC Lanterns for their naphtha and kerosene lamps and lanterns.
