I love most all fruit but I could never get into mangoes. I’ve only had a few, maybe I’ve just never had a good one. See what Werner says above. In addition to the pathetic choice of varieties, I've never found a ripe mango in a grocery store. A truly ripe mango is soft to the touch and smells very...

For anything I want really shiny, I use Mother's Synthetic car wax. It's fast and easy to use, and protects all metals pretty well. For really preserving metal, wood and leather, yep, it's Renaissance Wax. I was just looking at the brass tank on my The Lakeside stove last night, and it's as shiny as...

The Tilley heaters require a LOT of pre-heating. You'll find that a pre-heat chimney helps a lot with this. Crikey, can't we just outlaw the sale of used cats to anyone who doesn't run a verifiable, honest shop or yard? Paying with checks only did a lot a few years ago when copper and aluminum theft was a serious problem. Seems thieves are a little reluctant to give a name and address.

The phos acid really does remove a lot of the grime that the lye leaves behind (of course, as mentioned above, I'm only hitting it for less than a minute in most cases).
