Timm when you were rebuilding your first he-man I did mine right before you and I remember yours being a little different. But I think everything internal should be the same. Just remember the fuel /air donut seal. I was loosing pressure up the gen. I used one from a m1950 kit and it worked perfect...

Wear a head-lamp! Spider eyes are retro-reflective, so a light aligned close to your eyes will make them shine back atcha. Like tiny jewels glinting everywhere!

The tarantulas really come out after a monsoon rain in your part of the country. I miss that.

The nickel, sadly, burns off and can be hard to recognize. Double-life was marketing, pure and simple. A nickel-plated gen will last no longer than any other. They're just a nickel-plated gen--nothing else is different. I have several of the original DLs to compare with. Yeah, the 5201 is missing the guts, but that's it.

It's called a leaking valve. There are various fixes for that, some effective, some less so. Search around, but many of those threads may have been lost in the move. Looks to me like it needs to be a twelve point socket also. Some of the cheaper tools are only 6 points. Some of the less likely to round off a nut sockets and end wrenches are six-point! For sure Timm but if you check out that picture... the valve handle is a 12 point and a 6 wouldn't fit on it......
