Re: What do I have and what do I need

There should be a backer on the pump shaft that is near the diameter of the tube, minus the leather pump cup. I'd have to go back and look at mine to be sure. The leather cup should be able to "float" a bit on the shaft, between two retaining plates, so that air can enter on the upstroke--no adhesiv...

This one is a Scrade Walden #148, made from 1953-'57. The staghorn handle and sheath are not original, but are fairly nice.

It looks pretty good now:

I haven't gotten around to the sheath yet, but it takes a dandy edge!

Furniture is cleaning up nicely. Blade still in the tank. I'll use a piece of brazing rod for the rivet.

Supposed to go on for a while. Hopefully it stays liquid, as I haven't gotten my winter tires mounted yet.

I don't know where all you all live, nor what your winters are like, but the absolute best way to destroy a lead-acid battery is to freeze it while discharged. A fully-charged battery will not freeze, but a discharged one will, and then it's toast. If you don't use the rig daily, put a battery maint...

Look in your local area for a compressor company. They're pretty much everywhere. Most times, well-maintained compressors wear the compressor out before the tank rusts out. Get a tank that has been hydro-tested, or not, if big explosions with steel Shrapnel don't bother you.

I'm now officially stumped. I squirted some carb cleaner into the pump tube after giving it 40 strokes, and no leaks there. It lost pressure in about and hour after that, with the valve closed, so not an FA issue. I grabbed the trusty spray-bottle of soapy water and checked the usual suspects: Pump ...

Most hand-held compasses are balanced for a certain range of latitudes. I took my old Silva Ranger with me to the southern hemisphere, only to find the needle firmly trying to point the south end straight down, but it still did point north-south correctly.

200A collars--which is which?

I'm working on two 200As today. One '58, one '71. So far, I've been very careful to keep the parts separate... until I went to polish and clean the collars.

So, one has a patent # either side of the Coleman, the other doesn't.

Which is which?

Multiply that by 1.5, and you'll have the voltage of the wall-wart transformer you need to use those wires. Red is positive (+). If it isn't an LED bulb, polarity doesn't matter.
