I don't think Plasti-Dip is very high temp - I've used it on tool handles and it does melt/burn... I don't think it will be used on a high heat item...bale is hand held. Have you tried it after the lantern runs a while with the bail up? Most of mine are too hot to touch, and Timm has reported melti...

Runs just fine on Coleman Fuel with ORIGINAL generator ..... just pre-warm generator first. I run all of my Coleman "kerosene" lanterns on CF only.

Why invent something new? Because, dingus, as clearly outlined above...it can melt when the lantern is in use and the bail is in the vertical position. Dingus huh? Well dufus, it hasn't happened on ANY lantern and I always hang my lanterns from the bail .... even when it warped my vinyl soffit on m...

Glen, you were either lucky, or the stamp on yours was NOT an oxide base. ALL rust removing agents will remove oxide finishes and inks. that's what oxide is, - a rust. Seen it many times for black oxide on impact tools for instance. Even some colorations on plastic handles, like screwdrivers. What ...

I had a similar situation with CQs. One of the generator tips was worn and enlarged. I replaced and the smell was Gone with the Wind. You can either replace the tip or install a new generator.
Wife was very much mo' happy!
P.S. - CQ also burned well before the fix.

No Problemo! Hanging Garden.JPG Is that some kind of clip you're using to hang those lanterns? Can't say I would trust hanging that many to not pull the ceiling down with out additional hanger wires,,,lol. But I wouldn't mind hanging a couple like that.
