I have as exception to what Joe states above. The 275 no letter could have the o-ring break. Sometimes a chunk of that o-ring will jam the schrader valve open, not allowing the fuel to be shut off and the lantern could them become a fireball because of raw fuel coming out under pressure. Before you take the 288 apart, fill the fount to the maximum. Maximum being just to where fuel is starting to overflow filling the lantern on a flat surface. May sound stupid but these lanterns like a full tank when started.
