Nick, who can spot a lantern at 50 yards, spotted the Sears box. It was the first score of the morning. The lantern looks like it was used one season then put away for nearly 60 years. It's in awesome condition!

Is that a red topped Quicklite on the right? That is a red vent QL but to be honest, it was one, as was the 237B in the picture, that I sold to Nick out of my personal collection. OCP bought all of the Sportsman globes from Jafe when they gave up coloring globes. Cigar Mike had over a thousand of these globes at the time and sold them pretty cheap. Jafe also did them in not only amber, but also in red. The red are about as rare as an Arc lantern.

If you use Pirate Ship, I highly recommend their Shipsurance that they offer. The price is reasonable and you can include the price of shipping, if you want.

I have had a few claims snd and they have come through each time. Pirate Ship Customer Service is the best!

I believe the last fulfilled request that Coleman made to the collector community was back in 2007 with the Heritage lantern. Limited production based on the 200B, which is just a rebadged 286. 2007 was when the company was owned by Jardan (sp?) and most of the former Coleman employees were still th...

Good question. And why does Coleman export lanterns and stoves all the way to Japan and not try to sell some here? Also, why did they switch to plastic eccentric blocks? Things I'll go to the grave wondering. The plastic eccentric block were only used on the first 288 and 286 models. About the same...
