Re: Chromex and Cerakote Failures of sorts

Wow, was it really that pitted/rough before coating? I knew this one was a bit rusty when I took it in. When the fount goes in the blast cabinet, it will usually come out fairly smooth with some pitting. This one was particularly bad. I told the applicator to Chromex it anyway for the fun of it. Sa...

Chromex and Cerakote Failures of sorts

How well Chromex and Cerakote treated items depend on how they look before the application. Sometimes the media blast cabinet makes, what may have been an okay looking fount or vent, not come out so good: https://i.postimg.cc/43qvqbwq/20240621-142149.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/7hMgCvDr/20240621-142152...

The Christmas 200A was the first 200A to receive a decal starting, I believe in August or September of 1951. I feel that employees weren't quite sure wear to put the decal until some higher up mentioned to the decal putter-on-her person that the bail will destroy the decal in the low position, like ...

Sorry for your loss, Lynn! Our pets are like family members, without family drama. I hope this helps a little: The Rainbow Bridge Poem “Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. “When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. Coleman Canada never made a 228 after their 228B. This one is all American. Stupidly, I accidently grabbed a 228E fount. The Coleman logo stamp is under the valve wheel and the reason I put the decal on the backside. It does look more Canadian!

Well, you're quite right. It is quite a well-known fact that GPA collectors usually refer whatever device they pick up as a 'she', 'her', 'old girl', etc... I've not come across reading anyone referring them as the opposite 'gender'. :cf_heelkicking: Most later model Canadian lanterns are female. "...

500 Stoves

Someone asked how many 500/500A stoves I have. To be honest, at one time there were about 40 in the back shed. I bought most of them off of eBay when they were around $30.00 and shipping was cheaper. Many of them sat for 10 years. I also had a few I picked up in 2021 from Wolfie in Yucca Valley. I d...

It's something I pay a professional to apply.

There are professional Cerakote applicators all over the country. I believe you can do-it-yourself, too!

The part number reminds me of a friend that worked for General Automotive Warehouse, parent company of now-defunct, Al's Auto Supply. Every year they had to inventory each store. Bar codes helped expedite taking inventory. One guy scanned a can of corn bar code and entered it into the inventory of o...

To me, the only thing the "H" represents is making things cheaper. The "F", in my humble opinion, was the end of an era of real quality.

Same for the 200A ending in 1983.

Of that number, a staggering 62 of them are first time convention attendees! There are now 27 sales tables and 29 display tables. 75 attendees ...
