Re: How many globes do you break in a year?
Does the globe trying to bounce on the concrete floor count?
Murphy's Law will dictate not only breaking a globe, but it will never be a new MICglobe, always a green letter sunrise, original 275 globe or something rare.
And, too many to count.

Many of us should be dead from our youth, but we were indestructible! In junior high school, some friends and myself built a tree house on property that was to become a freeway. Ol' Johnny Ray was certifiably nuts. He'd climb a tall tree and then we would cut it down with an axe an Johnny would ride...

Thailand Made 200A Vent Test
So, I bought some of the vents off of eBay that were made in Thailand. I have put them on lanterns that went up for auction and, to be honest, I lost money on every one sold, so far. In addition, the lanterns went untested as for how the vents would stand up to the heat. So, in starting to assemble ...

One huge benefit of joining and attending a convention was summed up well by late member and 2014 convention host, Dave DeFrates, when he told me, " you go to your first convention or two to see all of the Coleman goodies and the conventions you attend after is to see the friends you made at the fir...

If a seller gives a rip about selling and cares, he can find reasonable shipping discounts via Pirate Ship or Shippo. Pirate Ship is my go to for all shipping. My auctions listed USPS Parcel Select as my shipping method. Pirate Ship had Priority Mail at about 50 cents to $1.50 more and I'd Ship that...

Shipping is an animal of its own. When I sell, I sometimes have one buyer overseas who bids on multiple items with the intent on winning. If he wins one lantern, shipping is $80 some dollars. If he wins nine items, and he insists on one large shipping carton, his total cost is about $420.00. A selle...

eBay Opinions
As I look at Coleman items for sale on the eBay, I am confused a bit by (A) opening bid prices and (B) quoted estimated shipping fees. I sell on eBay, so I have a pretty good idea of what it costs to ship most lanterns. But looking at a Turd with an opening bid of $50.00 and a shipping cost of nearl...

My last gas mower was a Toro. As much as I hate Toro mowers, it served well for a number of years before it wouldn't start one day as I was about half way done mowing. Seemed pretty weird. I checked a few You Tube videos that had several (and expensive) ideas until I stumble on one. Same as me, this...

Re: 275 turd.
The 275 really needs to lose the "turd" designation. No it doesn't! 275s can be a PITA to work on. The non-A models have the potential to become flaming fireballs when a chunk of the non fuel proof seal breaks off in the Schrader valve, jamming it open and allowing fuel to spew into the lantern and...

I guess this depends on your definition of unappreciated. For a workhorse lantern, I agree with Big Jack. The 220/228Es are the really last classic lantern IMHO. The 635 is a great looking and well running GPA. With Coleman still making 639s, it's too bad they don't make a 635. As for Thermos lanter...

Thanks for the comments, it is cute. This thing isn't 12 inches in any dimension. It is tiny. I've never seen one and figure it might be good to recharge an LED *ugh* lantern and not much else.
