Re: Milspec Mutant

If the check valve is working it should not be a problem. You are correct about the snorkel It would work also as an added safety device as long as the lantern is not over filled or tilted. So far I myself have not mastered the over filling and the funnels just do not seem to work unless the lantern...

Now I am thinking that because the lantern is 52 and the box 7-59 that maybe reworked and painted at that time. No sign of ever having rust I have seen others painted but thought that someone just got happy with silver paint.

I just picked up a 52 Coleman this week end also in a ratty box dated 7-59 Coleman. Came with a wrench three mantels and 1/2 full of fuel. Same silver paint and frame rest. US marked Quad glass. Looks to have been fired somewhat as lots of soot. Same silver paint. Added some fuel pricked the tip and...

I wouldn't do it. Your going to melt the control knob. I use a couple of cinder blocks/bricks that give me about four to five inches height or stand off distance above the burner. No more burnt food. You cant control the flame but you can control the direct heat. Try it you'll like it.

Start with a full tank, give it a dozen pumps with the generator off, open the valve and see if you get a flow that far. From there start adding one piece at a time establishing flow. Then when you add somthing and it stops flowing Bingo that is where the problem lies. Fix that and it is off to the ...
