Re: Coleman 200 Generator ID
Yep, that is definitely a Canadian lantern and it does not have the kero preheater cup at the generator nut so this lantern uses Coleman fuel or drip gas or white gas. You cannot get the T 66 generator anymore, I think they changed the part number for the newer versions of the 200 to include the 200...

Re: Coleman 200 Generator ID
This may be a Canadian lantern made in Toronto. As you said 1967? look here and compare yours to this description. Canadian lanterns are taller than those made in the USA according to this site.https://terry-marsh.com/coleman-canada-lanterns-1946-1970/. Also the folks at the ICCC, International Cole...

Re: model 400, 07/80 leak resolved?
The brown 400 stoves came with a brass pickup tube and were prone to failure. I suspect the pickup tube expanded where the Schrader contacted the sealing surface or the gasket was prone to failure. Replacing the Schrader failed possibly due to the different diameters of newer Schrader valves. This v...

Re: Melted Eccentric
Seems that was a common problem with the early cl2 lanterns, melted eccentric blocks. Coleman's answer was to install a heat shield to protect the plastic eccentric until it did not. Looks like the 290 and 288 lantern valves will work for you. https://www.oldcolemanparts.com/288-Valve-Assembly-C17.h...

Re: Orifice removal 400A stove
Phredd Hello. You are not going to clean your 400A generator with carb cleaner. The fuel when heated inside the generator turns into a hard carbon deposit over time plugging the generator. The only chance you have of cleaning it is with a propane torch until it starts to glow red and quenching it in...

The graphite used is called Expanded Graphite, expanded means compressible. Since your new ones are cracked I would suggest you chop one up with a box cut...

242A would have been created in the mid-1930s for kerosene. Coleman fuel could have been used< it was commonly known as drip gas until the 1950s, it is now known as white gas as the benzine is removed as benzine is a carcinogenic. Kero or Coleman fuel use is dependent on the generator installed in t...

The fuel-air tube is generally loose because it is recessed into the nut and crimped in place. You should be able to spin it. There is a second tube inside you can not see that is attached in the nut that will not wiggle or move. Inside this is where the needle for fuel flow is inserted. The needle ...

When you rotate the tip cleaning lever it clears the jet orifice of carbon deposits that can plug the jet and also allows fuel and air to pass out of the jet. When the valve is closed no fuel or air will pass. If the stove is holding pressure the I suspect the needle in the F/A tube inside is missin...
