Re: Stereo advice needed!

You can replace the foam surrounds on most any speaker pretty easily, I've done dozens. You can get kits, or you can buy the rings separately and use Aleene's tacky glue to attach. (the glue used in the kits dries flexible, as does Aleene's TG; most PVA glues dry brittle (Elmer's, Wood glues...)

still have my old Sansui 9090db. it works but goes out after 20 minutes. sure wish I could find someone to work on it. it was an awesome receiver. Visit AudioKarma and see if Echowars is still around and doing refurbs. He's the master of 9090 Sansuis... I have 2 9090db's and one was rebuilt by EW.

Too many things to remember, but I did make up a box to carry one of my medium small Kosmos lanterns, and some extra fuel hunting - cardboard as I had no time for wood, but I did paint the outside so it we get a bit of rain it doesn't go soggy on me. Got it - In that case I'd use a tiny burr, (dremel?) and carve a couple of small spots where the flat on the knob is supposed to be (rough the rest of it a bit so its not glossy), then proceed with your JB weld plan. The idea is to give maximum purchase, and slip resistance to the plastic on the kno...

I just clamp the valve into my bench vise (Padded jaws, I have lead covers... but wood, or leather also work) and use my hands, occasionally I need a strap wrench (stay on the bottom lip so you don't collapse the fount) Some of the more modern sealants need a bit of heat to break loose.
